Professionally Guided Sportfishing & Kayaking

Boats, equipment and facilities

We have four covered, boats ranging from 21 to 28 ft. Our boats are all heated with toilet facilities on board and are fully guided by one of our experienced, full-time professional guides. Our lodge and the largest most comfortable of our boats has been specially designed to be wheelchair friendly, ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience of fishing with us.

We can even offer the ultimate and unique experience of watching the activity around your line and lure underwater with our underwater camera!

Our regular clients will notice the addition of a Float House on the dock. This is where the we look after your bounty at the end of the day and where all the activity takes place, while you are relaxing in the lodge. It is also where your catch is frozen and stored ready for you to take home.

Salmon Fishing, Steelheading and Fly fishing Tackle

We believe that by including and supplying our clients with the best available rods and tackle, we enhance your overall fishing experience. Whether we're fishing for Salmon, Steelhead or Trout we will provide the tackle you need, but feel free to bring along your favourite rod and reel. Rods for salmon should have a strong butt section, a sensitive tip, and should approach 10' in length. Reels should carry between 300 and 400 yards of 20 pound test monofilament. We use light tackle and special reels designed to help you feel the fish when it takes the bait and fight it without a lot of heavy gear dragging with it. You'll feel the fish better, have better control and enjoy the battle more. But if you prefer, we will outfit you with standard start-drag reels. For steelhead fishing, bring your own waders if you have them. Your own waders are always a better fit. We will supply the Sage rods and Islander reels for the fish.

What to Bring on your Freshwater or Saltwater Fishing Vacation

Clothing should be layered so you can peel down if it gets hot or layer up if the weather turns cool or wet. The boats are heated and very comfortable, but when you're reeling in a fish, you'll be exposed to the elements. Our coastal weather can be very unpredictable. When the sun is out it is usually warm but it can change in a heartbeat so it is always best to be prepared for any type of weather any time of year. As a rule July, August, and September are hot and dry, but not necessarily on the West Coast where we fish for much of the season. Gloves are not necessary for salmon fishing but you may want to bring the fingerless type for Steelheading. Chest high waders are the best for Steelhead fishing. We have some, but no guarantees on sizing! You'll probably be more comfortable using your own. Also for steelheading, a warm hat or cap is smart as are warm socks and long johns.

A camera is a must... and don't forget film! We find that 200 ASA is the most versatile for all weather conditions. Chapstick and sunscreen are also important. Our waters are mostly calm but waves can get up and our guests have found that ginger pills have been working better than anything else this past year for those who are prone to motion sickness. These are available at local drug stores. Bonamine is also recommended, but can only be brought up from the US. Should you be venturing into wilderness fishing camp with us, bug spray is a hot item. We always have some on hand, but you might like to bring your favourite brand.
