KAYAKING

Kayaking in Quatsino Sound is like kayaking nowhere else on earth. In one day you can be paddling in a Sea Otter nursery, walking pristine white sand beaches collecting seashells, or viewing sea caves from inside and then later be up an inlet only accessible on certain tides to view our own Jurassic Park.

Then there is the rock formations and the limestone gorge we paddle through when we visit the mystical Little Amazon River; and wildlife viewing is unparalleled. Sea Otter by the hundreds, Humpback, Minke, Grey, and Orca Whales, Seals and Sea Lions, Eagles, Bear, Wolves, and even the odd Cougar live in this spectacular wilderness area.

We plan our trips around the tide and the weather. Every trip begins and ends at the lodge where your meals are prepared by our chef, your king-size bed is clean and warm, and there is a sauna available to relax in after a busy day of explorations.

Thank you for the best mini-holiday our family has had together for a long long time.
We felt really safe in your capable guiding abilities, and you better acquainted us with all kinds of beautiful sea life during those unforgettable paddling trips. We will always remember those colourful patchwork "quilts" of sea stars covering the rocks across the inlet. And of course nothing compares to the thrill of sitting in a kayak and watching a sea otter lazily floating on a kelp bed!
You were all wonderful with the kids - allowing them to "help" on the dock, encouraging them in the kayaks, and making them (and us) feel at home. Jarrah, your cooking was so great, we can't believe how much we ate!
It was also fun to visit with your other guests at dinner time, and hear about their fishing adventures.
